Tips to remember...

Talked to Cathie today for a bit (head of the Art Dept). Things I should remember from that conversation:

1.) No matter what level of work the rest of my senior class is at, if they are lower, don't lower *my* level of work to "match" theirs. Keep getting better and doing the best that *I* can.

2.) Trying to get into grad school with a BA as opposed to a BFA is apparently a challenge. Not impossible, but a challenge. So far, my GPA, my writing abilities, and how I would present myself in an interview is most likely up to a grad school standard. Also, the fact that I'm of a more mature age than some is also in my favor, as it will look like I actually know that this is what I want to do, and will work at it. That leaves the "problem" being my portfolio. I need to start making art quite a bit right now, and KEEP making art. Make it *good*. Make it up to the standards of someone that went to art school for their undergrad.

Speaking of portfolios and artwork, here's some stuff that I did this semester! Most of it for Drawing II, but some I did on my own.

If you click on any of these pieces, it'll take you to a bigger version. They're fairly large in person, so a bunch of detail gets lost, even in the large versions, and some of the color isn't quite true, though I've done my best to fix it.

Wow, these are GORGEOUS! I've always been impressed with your drawings, but there is so much progress here, I'm in awe! *tacklehugs*
